Our mission

The mission of the Centre Associatif Polyvalent d'Aide Hépatite C is to :

Support people living with the hepatitis C virus and their families. Create and provide information, awareness and education programs. Promote the overall health of the community, without discrimination, through prevention and education about hepatitis C and related diseases, such as HIV co-infection.

La mission du Centre Associatif Polyvalent d'Aide Hépatite C (CAPAHC) est de fournir un soutien aux personnes touchées par l'hépatite C et le VIH, ainsi qu'à leurs proches. Our history

Founded in 2003, CAPAHC has become a reference point for hepatitis C and STBBIs in Quebec. Initially focusing on an information line and support groups, the organisation has since expanded its services.

Its expertise consists of designing and implementing training on hepatitis C and STBBIs. It collaborates with various partners in Quebec. It runs workshops in prisons and halfway houses. It raises awareness and provides support for key populations. The organization is responsible for two consultation committees and operates a helpline that provides educational resources.

Our organization is committed to supporting Joyce's Principle, ensuring equitable access to health and social services for Aboriginal peoples, defending cultural security and actively combating systemic racism in all its forms.

She abandoned her medical studies to become a scrub nurse/surgical assistant in general surgery, worked in the field of HIV and drug addiction, and finally founded CAPAHC. Luckily, the many small jobs in administration, accounting and getting by in between all these milestones have left their mark…
